The Skinny:  The awesome people out at Willimantic Brewing Company (located in, you guessed it...Willimantic) are hosting the Spring Beer Dinner.  The Menu is set and the beers have been chosen.  Willimantic Brewing Company is taking a slightly different approach than most Beer Bars/Brew Pubs when it comes to this Beer Dinner.  Willimantic Brewing Company has decided to pair the four courses of this dinner with beers from four different Breweries.  Sounds like a great idea to me!  This allows Willimantic Brewing Company to pick and choose the very best (in their opinion) of each beer style to match their savory menu.  So without any further babbling, here is the rundown:

This is going to be a 4 course dinner. 




First
Pyramid Hefeweizen
Fresh Pea & Mint Soup – Puree of fresh peas, cream and mint. Topped with crème fraiche.


Second
WBC Anniversary Amber
Smoked Salmon Salad – Mixed field greens topped with avocado relish, house-smoked salmon and baked marinated garlic cloves with crispy cucumber tortilla chips.

Third
Stone IPA
Filet & Ravioli – A seared herbed petit filet mignon accompanied by twin fried vegetable ravioli with a mustard béarnaise sauce and piped buttered carrot puree.


Fourth
Berkshire Brewing Coffeehouse Porter
Fried Ice Cream & Banana Croustade – Fried vanilla ice cream scoops topped with vanilla infused whipped cream and a puff pastry and banana croustade.
